Dr. Kemker discusses depression and bipolar depression during pregnancy as well as potential problems of the use of antidepressants and mood stabilizers taken during pregnancy. She also talks about the possible complications of these medications if taken during pregnancy such as fetal abnormalities, birth defects, SSRI withdrawal syndrome or abnormal developmental problems. . In addition Dr. Kemker answers questions about the complications of pregnancy if the mother is depressed during pregnancy which can include post partum depression and even suicide. She also covers the complications of pregnancy if the mother is taking drugs such as cocaine or using marijuana, smoking cigarettes or consuming alcohol.</font></p>
